I was telling Sheridan the other day that I picked a really messed up week to get sick and she told me something I think resonates for all of us: “My husband used to tell his boss ‘Go home and rest. Things will still be f**ked up tomorrow.’”
Indeed.
With the senseless murder of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Historian Heather Cox Richardson(patron saint of the resistance) has announced the official arrival of fascism to the United States. We’re here.
But fortunately for us, when you stay ready, there’s no need to get ready. And this week proved that we’ve spent months staying ready for this moment.
Hoffner Park added a few more faithful last week.
After the Honk n Wave, we met at Sharonville Library to make some fresh signs for the bridges. I’m not sure we’ve ever had such large attendance at a sign making, it was electrifying!
The next day we debuted the signs to raise awareness of the fifth anniversary of the January 6 Insurrection. Here we are on Monmouth.
And the lit sign on Ridge grabbed the attention of TikTok’er Hattie Cincinnati, where it has grown to over 8,000 likes.
Wednesday’s shooting was outrageous (emphasis on the outrage). So Karen Weese quickly put together a sign for her Montgomery Bridge event on Thursday which would capture the sights of both law enforcement AND the media.
Don’t worry, the police investigated briefly and confirmed we’re good to be there.
The bridge event was featured in media coverage about the Fountain Square Rally later Thursday night, which several CCA members attended.

The Northside team’s Honk n Wave at Hoffner Park will have a special ICE OUT FOR GOOD theme on Monday 4pm - 5pm.
Braver Angels is having a Greater Cincinnati Alliance meeting Monday night at Hyde Park Community United Methodist (1345 Grace Ave) at 7pm. Their mission is to gather people of opposing ideologies together for a productive conversation. This month’s topic is “Courage in Divided Times.” RSVP LINK:

Westside Whistelmania is on! The team will be assembling whistle kits at Price Hill library at 6:30pm at 970 Purcell Ave.

Butler Co Dems (BCDP) are having their final Run for Office Info Sesh, it’s been on my schedule for weeks but checking the RSVP here it looks they’re at capacity. Leaving it here in case anything changes.
AFL-CIO is having a Social Security rally from noon to 1pm on Wednesday at 550 Main Street, which is (checks records) The Peck Federal Building.

CCA Montgomery Brigade Demonstration

Judge Marilyn Zayas will be kicking off her 2026 campaign at Streetside Brewery (4003 Eastern Ave)at 5:30pm.
And the Socialist Alternative is having an Organizing Meeting with a NO ICE, NO WAR theme. They start at 6:30pm at Walnut Hills Library

The Friday Bridge teams are BACK!
Clermont Co Brewing Change Coffee Klatch will be at it as always, Friday at 4pm.
But most importantly, we’re having a PARTY!!!! We’re partnering with 50501 Cincinnati for a Solidarity Shindig (and White Elephant). We’ll be at Westside Brewery at 6pm. See you there!

I mentioned earlier, but on Thursday Heather Cox Richardson’s Politics Chat declared that we are, in fact, living fascism now. She has been very cautious about using this word until this point. Have a watch.
