Happy Tax Day, Caffeinated Resisters!
Still two days to get your returns in if you haven’t already and about three weeks left to cast your primary vote. Civic duties abound!
This week, we’re watching MAGA continuing to crack while Melania and Donald both have their own public crash outs. The time to vote has never been more important.
Monday, the Hoffner Park team was enjoying nice weather.
A great turnout in Harrison on the New Haven Road bridge on Wednesday.
Two teams were out Thursday, first on Montgomery in the morning...
And the News showed up at the Monmouth bridge in the afternoon.
We had a small but mighty game night in Sharonville Thursday night. Here’s a shot of Birdie losing Connect Four.
Friday morning we were out on Deerfield.
And two bridges in Lockland.
As usual Saturdays are for Tesla!
and Sunday the Plainfield bridge had a hearty turnout!
This week is CHOCK A BLOCK with events. The NonViolent NonCooperation Trainings will begin tomorrow, Tuesday. There’s several election/campaign events upcoming and we’re on the bridges/streets almost every single day. Come join us!
MONDAY APRIL 13
The Honk n Wave team will be out at 4pm
Secretary of State candidate Bryan Hambley is having a Meet n Greet at Marion’s Pizza at 7pm
Braver Angels also has their monthly meeting tonight at 7pm at Hyde Park Community Methodist.
TUESDAY APRIL 14
The first NonViolent Training begins with Part 1 at Westwood Library from 5:30 - 7:30.
A local Red Wine and Blue chapter is having a Chat & Write postcard event at 10am at West Chester’s Coterie Lounge.
WEDNESDAY APRIL 15
First thing’s first: FILE THOSE TAXES!
The Harrison Bridge team will be out Wednesday at 4:45pm
UC is having a Picket event to support making UC a Sanctuary Campus at 1pm on University Pavilion
There’s also a Whistle Kit event Wednesday co-sponsored by PSL, NKY Against ICE and Midwestern Lesbian at 6pm at the Homemakers Bar.
And finally, States at the Core is hosting another of their super informative ICE Watch trainings at 7pm (virtual event - zoom connection is linked to the RSVP)
THURSDAY APRIL 16
Thursday is a two bridge day, on Montgomery...
And Monmouth!
Later that night there is another in-person Know Your Rights community training event at Good Shepherd Lutheran at 7pm
UC is having another event in support of becoming a Sanctuary Campus on Thursday, this one is a training called Organization 101. It’ll be held at 6pm at 860 Old Chem.
Batavia RWB is hosting a Chit Chat and Chai on Thursday from 1pm to 3pm at Bean and Brew.
And lastly the Butler Co Dems will be having a party meeting at Butler Tech at 6pm Thursday. The address is 5140 Princeton Glendale Rd.
FRIDAY APRIL 17
Friday we’ll be back on the bridges!
Clermont Co Brewing Change Coffee Klatch will be as it always is, Friday at 4pm.
SATURDAY APRIL 18
The Tesla crew will be back at it Saturday at 11am on Ridge - park at Jack in the Box.
Saturday is the first FULL DAY training for NonViolence. This week they’ll be at the Downtown Main Library starting at 10am.

The second Protect the Guys n Dolls rally in support of trans youth is also happening this Saturday at 2pm at Children’s hospital.
And the second in a new ongoing Saturday demonstration will be happening at Fountain Square on 4/18 - Cincy Singing at 3pm!
Giff and the Ground Truth team will be out canvassing again in Norwood from 2pm - 5pm on Saturday. Come join the fun!

Our new Sunday overpass on Plainfield road will be back this Sunday at 1pm.
DSA has their monthly meeting Sunday at 2pm at the Downtown Main Library.
There’s also a Sign the Strike Pledge event at Clifton Plaza at 2pm.
The Butler CO Dems South team will have a SE Regional meeting from 2pm to 4pm at Midpointe Library Westchester, then a social event to follow at el Rancho Nuevo in Hamilton at 6pm.

Women Run, a local organization supporting the candidacy of women and women’s rights supporters is walking the Flying Pig 5k! The Event is May 2, but to order your tee shirt to join the group, order by April 21.

MUST WATCH OF THE WEEK
Alesia and I were able to catch the powerful Auschwitz Exhibit on its last day yesterday and it’s been on my mind ever since. More than once on our 3 hour walk-through, I found the all-too common phrase ringing through my ears:
History doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes.
The night before on Saturday, I started Nuremberg on Netflix. I wasn’t able to get through the full film before heading to bed, and somewhat serendipitously wound up finishing the movie after seeing the exhibit yesterday, which was just fitting.
Shortly before we scanned our tickets in the news came out: Viktor Orban has conceded defeat in Hungary. Dare I hope the global trend toward authoritarianism is waning?
We remain vigil even so. For as Rami Malek’s character Douglas Kelly says at the end of the film:
“They are not unique people. There are people like the Nazis in every country in the world today...Yes, in America. Their personality patterns are not obscure. There are people who want to be in power. And while you say they don’t exist here, I would say I’m quite certain there are people in America who would willingly climb over the corpses of half the American public if they knew they could gain control of the other half...They stoke hatred. It’s what Hitler and Göring did, and it is textbook.”
