Deja Vu All Over Again
Weekly Brew March 1
Look at how happy we were. Eating pizza and talking about Heated Rivalry and aliens and then we all got home to news that the US has been plunged into war with Iran. Again. Without congressional approval.
What a time to be alive.
Also, too, I am NEVER ever again going to cheekily put “zzzzzzz....” on the calendar when I don’t know of any events happening because I’ve now been sent FIVE things that have popped up in the interim for today and so...hope your schedule is cleared! Karma is real and it came for me this week.
So before I recap last week’s actions, here’s the skinny for --
SUNDAY MARCH 1
First thing’s first, the SMILE Clermont guys are hosting another march at Eastgate Mall today at noon. Hopefully no solo Trump Trains will be trolling this time.
Then there’s two different ICE Out themed benefits in Northern Kentucky. The first is a poetry reading at Radical Bean at 2pm
Then later tonight a benefit concert featuring CCA friend Siri Imani at 6pm at Southgate House Revival in Newport.
And now for the re-cap! Last week, Hoffner Park had some furry support.
On Wednesday the West side team reported an increase of honks at the New Haven Rd bridge in Harrison.
Then Thursday we blasted the Epstein message in Montgomery...
...And Monmouth.
Friday morning, we pre-gamed for the Shindig on bridges, of course. Deerfield.
And Lockland!
Then we had some much needed socialization at the Shindig!
We’re pleased to announce Karen Pinsky is the recipient of the FIFA Bravery Award for February. Karen has a background in nursing, is one of our facebook admins and a tireless presence on multiple bridges. If you see her out and about, be sure to give her her propers.
Next month, it will be Karen’s turn the pass the award on to another brave resister on March 19 at our One Year Anniversary Shindig.
Of course yesterday we were back on the bridges at Tesla! With the warm weather and trying circumstances, they definitely saw an uptick in attendance.

MONDAY MARCH 2
First and foremost, if you can make it to Hamilton Monday morning at 7;30am, Ignite Peace is calling for a presence outside the Hamilton Courthouse for this young man. I’ll be there!
Later that afternoon the Honk n Wave will be at 4pm.
Red Wine and Blue is kicking off a very active week with a zoom meeting regarding Advocacy at 7:30pm
TUESDAY MARCH 3
Red Wine and Blue is zooming again on Tuesday, this time focusing on DATA CENTERS. Starts at 6:30pm
WEDNESDAY MARCH 4
Not trained yet for ICEy conditions? States at the Core has you covered, tune into their ICEWatch training at 7pm
The Harrison team is going again on the New Haven Road overpass at 4:30!
Then at 7:30pm, Red Wine and Blue has an Ohio New Member meeting on zoom.
Their Banned Book Club Zoom will also take place Wednesday night ( I told you RWB has a busy week!). The book of focus is A World Worth Saving by Kyle Lukoff.
THURSDAY MARCH 5
Where else would we celebrate Weekend-Eve but on the bridges? We’ll be at Montgomery at 10am.
And Monmouth at 4pm.
Red Wine and Blue is meeting IN PERSON in Cincinnati! The event is called Whines Wines and Whys and it’s at 5:30pm at Fine Wine O’Clock 6223 Montgomery Rd.
And there’s another RWB zoom Thursday, this one is a civics salon at 7:30pm.
50501 is also having an Action Call Thursday night at 7pm, the topic is Fighting and Winning Against Trump’s Concentration Camps.
FRIDAY MARCH 6
We’ll of course greet the day on the bridges!
Clermont Co Brewing Change Coffee Klatch will be as it always is, Friday at 4pm.
The Friends of Damon Lynch are hosting a progressive happy hour at the William Frances Theater. This will be a series held every Friday so if you can’t make this one, just keep your eyes peeled.
SATURDAY MARCH 7
TESLA TAKEDOWN is back at their regularly scheduled 11am timeslot. The Queen City Bridgeadiers will be joining, as per usual.
11am - 1pm
Red Wine and Blue are having ANOTHER in person event locally, this time in Sharonville from noon to 2pm at Third Eye Brewing

Get those pink pussyhats ready, because Women’s Day is here again! This year’s festivities will be kicking off at Piatt Park at 11am with a march to City Hall, where CCA will have a table set up.

MUST WATCH OF THE WEEK
Women’s History Month is here, it’s true. But February slid by so fast I wasn’t able to get anything scheduled for Black History month! So before the month is completely in our rearview, I’ve compiled some Black History resources for your viewing/listening pleasure.
First of all, Cincinnati was a major stop on the Underground Railroad and home to the badass Freedom Center downtown. If you haven’t been, you simply must. It’s breathtaking in it’s scope and design.

If you’re looking for a deep, exhaustive dive into American black history, I highly recommend Nikole Hannah-Jones’ expertly crafted 1619 Project. I listened to the full audiobook, which you can get on Hoopla, but there’s also a Hulu Docuseries and a NYT Sponsored podcast, linked here.
And on the lighter side, because we all need a good laugh right now, check out Drunk History clips on YouTube! I’ve linked the Civil Rights compilation because they are all truly slam-dunk episodes (and particularly prescient to what we’re going through!), but there’s a whole bunch you can watch online.
For those not familiar, the concept of Drunk History is actors recreating historical events as narrated by the inebriated to hilarious results.
